Blues Lyrics of the Week: Blues Before Sunrise

Here at the BluesPowR Blog, we tend to get up pretty early most mornings, which makes it easy to relate to the title of this Leroy Carr classic, with this particular version of lyrics coming from none other than B.B. King on his most recent album, One Kind Favor:

"I have the blues before sunrise,
with tears standing in my eyes.
I have the blues before sunrise,
tears standing in my eyes

It's such a miserable feeling,
a feeling I do despise...

Ah, the day has been
such a long oh lonesome day.
The day has been,
day has been such a long lonesome day.
I've been just sittin' here thinkin'
with my mind a million miles away.

The blues stops a rollin'
and they stops in the front of my door.
Blues a rollin'
and they stops at my front door.
I'm gonna' change my way of livin'
and I ain't gonna' worry no more."
- Blues Before Sunrise, Leroy Carr
